G.e.p Project about arts & crafts

Marist’s school in order to foster a second language is implementing new subjects that are taught in English.

One of the subjects that are taught in English is Arts & crafts. The entire class is in English and all the guidelines are given in this language. 

Besides being a problem for kids it has been something motivating for them, since they have never done something like that before. 

Furthermore, in order to have the teachers properly trained Marist’s school has decided to train their teachers through the G.E.P program. 

One of the projects developed through this is the Kandinsky for a day project. This project had been done taking as starting point a unit of the Arts & Crafts subject that is the shapes. 

Kandinsky for a day project consists in motivating kids to be artists for a day. The students had to create their own work of art. So they had to cut some different shapes using papers of different colours and then once they have all the shapes properly cut, they will work in small groups to work on their work of art. 

Once all the students have finished they will choose a name for their work of art. That is something very motivating for them.
